Tim and Kalyn

You may be wondering how this guy from New Jersey and Texas girl met and began their life-long relationship together. This is really the romantic tale that began with sharing a private chatroom once upon a time, but we won’t bore you with those details.

Our story really begins in early 2004 when Tim first met some of the Currys online through a website for former ATI homeschool students. Over a couple months, he had opportunity to get to know several of the sisters (including Kalyn) on a very casual basis.

Innocently enough (some beg to differ), through a series of circumstances, Tim was able to visiting Texas and officially meeting the Currys in June. He had come to Texas to meet them and some other mutual friends that were gathering for week or so at the Curry’s home. Several of the friends had only known each other online and this was a perfect opportunity to finally meet each other in person.

During that week it wasn’t long before we started noticing and paying attention to each other in a very different way than we had before. By the time the weekend came around that Tim had planned on leaving, another opportunity came up for him to stay a couple days longer to do some offroad mudding with Kalyn, Colie, Stan and some friends. Somehow his schedule was suddenly cleared and he was able to stay those extra days.

After the weekend was over, Tim really ‘had’ to head home now, because he had things he ‘needed’ to be home for in early July. Somehow on the trip home to New Jersey from Texas (with some encouragement from some of the Currys) he once again changed plans and made a slight detour home to stop by southwestern Indiana where the Currys were attending a family reunion the Fourth of July weekend.

It was in Indiana that it became apparent that more than a casual relationship was brewing between us. Later in July, we officially began our relationship and thus began the many hours on the phone and on instant messenger talking and really getting to know each other.

In November, Tim decided to make a surprise visit to see Kalyn. On Saturday morning we headed over to a friend’s house for horseback riding. Conveniently, we ended up going riding by ourselves. Along the way, Tim stopped and said he needed to get down for a while and asked Kalyn to get down too. There by the side of the road, on his knee, Tim asked Kalyn to be his wife. After first saying “what do you think?” Kalyn (of course) said yes!!!!
